On Tuesday, October 16th, 2018, we were both on a cruise to Mexico, completely unaware of each other’s existence. But a chance conversation by the pool that afternoon changed everything. We spent hours talking, laughing, and forming a deep connection that felt both unexpected and natural. By the time we parted ways that evening, we couldn’t help but wonder where this newfound bond might lead.

Throughout the rest of the cruise, we kept running into each other by chance. Each time, the excitement and spark between us were undeniable. On the last night a perfect date unfolded —walking hand-in-hand around the ship, playing arcade games, and ending the night under a full moon, secretly making wishes for the future.

After the cruise, we returned to our everyday lives but stayed in touch through WhatsApp. Our conversations deepened as we learned more about each other. Deano made the first visit to Joshua in Sydney for Christmas and New Year’s. It was a magical time filled with special moments, and we began to create our own holiday traditions that continue to this day.

In July 2019, we got engaged and celebrated with a dream-like engagement party in Los Angeles, which we had planned from two different continents. Surrounded by our closest friends and family, it was a night overflowing with love and joy, marking the start of our journey toward marriage. Not long after, we had another engagement party in Sydney, where we shared this special milestone with more of our wonderful friends.

Shortly after these celebrations, the world was hit by the pandemic. Australia’s strict border policies meant we couldn’t see each other for nearly two years. Despite the distance, our relationship only grew stronger. We supported each other through the challenges, and our bond became even more unshakable during those difficult times apart.

As the world began to reopen, we embraced our love for travel, making the most of our time together once again. Traveling had always been a part of our story, and it felt like the perfect way to reconnect after so much time apart. Each trip reminded us of how far we’d come and how strong our connection had remained.

Now, we are ready for the next chapter. We are thrilled to celebrate our love and commitment, not just to each other but with the family and friends who have supported us along the way. We can’t wait to have you join us on our special day in Maui as we take this exciting step together!
